I had something happen to me yesterday and I thought it would make a great story. This is something that still surprises me, even though I've been in and out of St. Roch Market for the past 8 years. It highlights an aspect of this place that I think is important for you to know: our location is much more accessible than you think.
I had to go pick up my wife and kids in Metairie because of some car trouble. I was at the market, thinking, "All the way to Metairie and back." I was pressed for time but had to make the trip. Know what, though? The round trip took way less time than I expected, even during the busiest traffic.
10 Minutes from the Parish Line
Here's a fun fact: it's only a 10-minute drive (if you respect the 60 mph speed limit) from the parish line on 610 to our parking lot at St. Roch Market. If you're anywhere near 610, add 10 more minutes, and you're walking right through our doors.
Elysian Fields vs. Franklin Ave
Choosing between Elysian Fields and Franklin Ave? It's pretty much the same time-wise. But Franklin Ave can feel like Zephyr Road, so if you're not in a jeep, Elysian Fields might be smoother for you. I prefer Franklin because it takes me straight to the corner of St. Claude, and from there, it's less than two blocks to our parking lot.

If you're near 610, you're just 10 minutes away from parking your car and stepping into St. Roch Market. Next time you're looking for a dining spot, remember this. In just 10 minutes, you could be wandering around St. Roch, deciding which New Orleans flavor you're in the mood for today.
