# St. Roch Market

> St. Roch Market is a community food hall at 2381 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70117, operating continuously since 1875. Independent, locally-owned vendors serve Southern, Burmese, Malaysian, Japanese, Egyptian, Middle Eastern, charcuterie, oysters, and craft cocktails under one historic roof. Operated by Kevin Pedeaux and Market Staples LLC since September 2023. Open Sun–Thu 7am–9pm, Fri–Sat 7am–10pm. Phone: (504) 267-0388. Free on-site parking. The market is located at the corner of St. Roch Avenue and St. Claude Avenue in the St. Roch / Marigny / Bywater neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes from the French Quarter. It was originally built in 1875 as Washington Market, renovated by the WPA in 1937–1938 (when its iconic cast iron columns were installed), devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and reopened as a modern food hall in 2015. The building is a City of New Orleans property operated under a 30-year lease by Market Staples LLC.
